Constructed from dozens of unique hand-thrown vessels, in multiple clay bodies, Ceramicity takes inspiration from domestic and industrial chimneys forming their own architectural skyline. The installation examines the intersection between ceramics and the urban environment, addressing environmental issues of industrialisation, growth, decay, and our ever-changing city landscapes. Informed by the history of the UK’s Ceramic Industry and The Potteries, each vessel explores the unifying expression and materiality within both ceramics and architecture.
